Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Duval and Nassau Counties
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of northeastern Florida, including Duval and Nassau counties, effective until 8:45 PM EDT.
According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued on August 13 at 8:15 PM EDT and remained in effect until 8:45 PM EDT. The radar-indicated storm was located along a line extending from near Callahan to near Cisco Gardens, moving southeast at 5 mph.
The storm brought hazards including 60 mph wind gusts, torrential rainfall, and continuous cloud-to-ground lightning. Such conditions are expected to cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees across the affected areas.
Impacted locations mentioned in the warning include Jacksonville, Callahan, Jacksonville International Airport, Cisco Gardens, Nassau Village-Ratliff, Ratliff, Oceanway, San Marco, Riverside, and Tallyrand.
